Wence Oliver Perry was born January 15, 1935 in Tyler, Alabama, one of eight children to the late Nathan Perry Sr. and Rosa (Rudolph) Perry.
Wence or Perry as most people affectionately called him, accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Union Springs Baptist Church in Selma, Alabama under pastor J.S. Rivers.
Wence was educated in the Tyler, Alabama school district. He attended Tyler Elementary and Parker High School. He served in the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged in January, 1962. He later met and Married Anita Jean Moore on November 22, 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio, they were blessed with 58 years of marriage.
Wence retired from his career as an Interstate Truck Driver in January, 2000 after 40+ years of service. He loved his family and he loved his hobbies of golf, fishing and cooking! He also loved watching golf matches, baseball games and westerns and he loved being a member of the Chippers Golf organization.
Wence was preceded in death by his parents Nathan Perry Sr. and Rosa Perry, son George Eric, three sisters; Willie Dale Hunter, Bertha Headd, and Wonza Wilkerson, two brothers; Nathan Perry, Jr. and George Perry.
Wence leaves to cherish his memory his loving, devoted wife of 58 years Anita; one sister Mary Emma Finch of Birmingham, Alabama; two children, Roslyn and Winston; Daughter-in-Love, Sarah Perry; three grandchildren, Amanda, Ethan and Jacob; one great-grandchild Olivia and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be truly missed.
