Obituary

Ruby Lee Bobo, age 82, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on November 20, 2022, after a valiant battle with a prolonged illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in this struggle and provided her peace. She was born July 8, 1940, in Brent, Alabama to Rosie Lee Curry and raised by Preston and Mary Dobyne who have all preceded her in death. Ruby accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She joined Harvest Baptist Church in the mid-1980s, where she remained a faithful member until her death. Ruby worked as a seamstress for over 30 years. In 2005, she retired from the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority, (CMHA). Ruby was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, and friends.

In 1957, Ruby and her family moved to Cleveland, Ohio. In 1975, she married the love of her life, Virgil Bobo, Sr, who preceded her in death in 1983 and gained her extended family. Ruby Lee Bobo was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Ruby loved bowling and spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of Harvest Baptist Church, where she served in various capacities throughout the years.

Ruby is survived by two birthed children, her son, Kenneth Curry (Sharlon), her daughter, LaTonya Bobo and seven bonus children, Ricky Bobo, Delores Bobo (Harold), Cheryl Curry, Darryl Bobo (Shirley), Vergil Bobo, JR (Yolanda), Kimberly Foreman, and Felicia Williams (Mike). She had a son Dwayne Curry who preceded her in death. She was a mother figure to her nieces and nephews; Loretta Stephens, Vince Stephens (Veronica), Jeanette Phillips (Emery), Rodney Stephens (Katrina), Yvette Stephens, Preston Lampkin. She leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ruby's siblings preceded her in death, brother Ernest Curry; 2 sisters, Loree Curry and Jessie Mae Stephens and her nephew Robert Curry.
