IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maragret
Buffington
March 22, 1937 – November 12, 2022
Margaret Ann Buffington, nee Hilliard, was born in Cleveland, OH,
March 22, 1937, to the union of Marion Burl Hilliard and Mary Edith
Stewart. Margaret, lovingly called Peggy, attended schools in
Cleveland, OH, as well as in Farrell, PA.
She met and married James "Nick" Winfield in 1956. Three sons were
born of this union: Ramon, James, and Clinton. Peggy later met and
married Rudolph V. Buffington. Three children were then blended into
this union: Rudolph Jr, Curtis, and Andrea Buffington.
At an early age, Peggy accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was
Baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Cleveland, OH. She later
joined Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. Her last membership was
at Morelight Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Nurse,
and on the Culinary Team.
Peggy worked as a Waitress most of her life. However, she had a
permanent position with the Blaushield/Weisman Family twenty-six years,
serving with excellence. Everything she did, was with excellence, whether
cleaning or cooking, always with excellence.
Peggy was very family oriented, loving children with a passion. Many
of her children's friends called her, "Mom." She had a loving personality, always giving, and very free spirited. Laughing, joking, and
having fun came easily for her.
Peggy loved African and Asian art work and design, where her home
bears witness to this.
Her friends are many and most of them have known her for at least sixty
years.
Peggy leaves to mourn: Sons; Ramon, James, and Clinton
Winfield; Sister, Myrna (Clifford) Hudson; Step children;
Rudolph (Grovine) Buffington, Jr.; Curtis Buffington, and Andrea
Buffington. Eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; One
Aunt, Tonina Hilliard-Walker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.
Husband, Rudy Buffington, Parents, Mary and Marion, as well as an
older sister, Betty Jean Martin preceded Peggy in death. There were other
close family members such as loving uncles and their spouses who
influenced Peggy's life which preceded her in death: Theodius & Mary
Hilliard, Tom Fred & Mary Jane Hilliard, Norman & Charline
Hilliard, Emmett & Marie Hilliard, and William & Pansy Hilliard.
