Strowder Funeral Home co-founder Edward E. Strowder, 92, passed at his home in Hollywood, Florida, on Monday Sept. 22.
Ebenezer Strowder was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on January 16, 1922, to Ebb and Gertrude Strowder. (He added Edward to his name when he was an adult.)
He is survived by wife, Myrtle Jean; children Edward "Ted" Strowder of Cleveland, Barbara Stallworth of Atlanta, Georgia, William "Bill" Strowder, and Howard "Tony" (Jerolyn) Strowder of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren Loretta T. Strowder of Cleveland, Marshall Tschaka Sanford of Atlanta, Georgia, and Lauren, Jillian, and Jenna Strowder of Cleveland, Ohio, great-grandchildren, Edsal Holmes, Jr. and Evand Holmes of Cleveland, and Malik, Jonathan, Sterling, Barbara, Rico and Courtney Sanford of Atlanta. His parents, siblings and granddaughter Cherie Strowder preceded him in death.
Florida services will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 816 NW First Ave., Hallandale, FL. 33009.

In Cleveland, calling hours will be on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Strowder's. The Funeral Service is Wednesday, 12 noon at Greater Abyssinia Baptist Church, 1161 E. 105th St. The family will receive friends at 11 a.m.
