Darius Wayne Hart was born from the union of the late Mae Odis and Bartow Hart. He was the first of two children born to this union. He was born November 11, 1958, in Bay Village, Ohio.
Butch confessed Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 2011 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Tucson, Arizona alongside his Mother, Mae Odis Higgs who joined the church under watch care.
Butch enjoyed listening to his music, driving his old school cars, and spending time with family and friends. He listened to R&B and Jazz music; his favorite song was "You Send Me '' by Roy Ayers /Ubiquity. He often cruised the Westpark neighborhood in his Chevy Impala listening to both R&B and Jazz. Butch had an outgoing personality, and he was known in the 130th Neighborhood as "Baretta." When he dressed up, he often wore his trademark Stacy Adams Blue Suede shoes. He especially enjoyed holiday dinners because they offered him the opportunity to spend time visiting with family and friends. He had a close bond with his cousin, Reggie Hart, who was like a brother to him. Also, he loved doting on his nieces and nephews. He had a special bond with great-nephew Xavier because they shared a birthday (November 11th).
Butch was a hard worker, and he began earning money as a teenager mowing lawns and shoveling snow. He worked at Ford Motor Company. After leaving Ford, he held positions in janitorial, hospitality, and manufacturing throughout his life. He moved to Arizona in 2009 where he lived until 2017.
On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, Darius "Butch" Hart passed away peacefully in his sleep leaving an empty place in our hearts. He leaves to mourn, his loving siblings; Norma Jean Brown, Bonita (Jeffery) Wright, Murlene Moses, Tanya Higgs, Kimberly Hart, Laura (Donald) Thomas, Debora (Alex) Hutson, Lavinia (Archie) Lane, Terrence (Joyce) Higgs; three aunts, Doris Townsell, Mattie Townsell, Viola Townsell and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
